Mentorship Program 2025-26

HSG Individual Mentorship Program 2025

What does it take for a young researcher in Bangladesh, Mexico, or Uganda to find the right guidance to grow?

Through the HSG Mentorship Program, emerging leaders connect with global experts to co-create their career, journeys.

Welcome to the Health Systems Global (HSG) Individual Mentorship Program 2025, a flagship initiative of the Capacity Strengthening Working Group. Born directly from the priorities of our members, this program is designed to foster meaningful, one-on-one learning relationships within the Health Policy and Systems Research (HPSR) community. We connect experienced professionals (mentors) with early and mid-career members (mentees) for a 12-month journey of collaborative growth, skill development, and shared understanding.

This is more than just guidance; it’s a partnership for professional development. Based on a rigorous matching process that aligns professional interests, roles, and geographic contexts, each mentor-mentee pair co-creates a flexible, goal-oriented learning plan. Through virtual meetings and structured support, the program aims to:

  • Empower Mentees with enhanced confidence, clearer career goals, and advanced research skills.
  • Enable Mentors to strengthen their leadership and teaching capacities while gaining fresh perspectives.
  • Strengthen the entire HPSR field by building a critical mass of skilled researchers, educators, and practitioners committed to evidence-based health systems.

We are thrilled to introduce our inaugural cohort of 18 mentor-mentee pairs, a vibrant group representing a diverse array of regions and disciplines. Their engagement reflects the truly global and inclusive nature of the HSG community. Below, you can explore their profiles and learn more about the passionate individuals driving this initiative forward.

“The mentorship has been incredibly enriching—it’s not just about guidance, but shared growth and understanding.” — A 2025 Program Mentor

”I hope to gain practical experience and guidance in Health Policy and Systems Research, and I believe this platform will help me broaden my global health network across the world” – A 2025 Program Mentee

This program is a testament to the power of our community to support its own growth. As we celebrate the progress of the 2025 cohort, we warmly invite all HSG members to consider joining future cycles.
