Women’s Mentorship Program

Supporting women to thrive

Health Systems Global (HSG) is committed to strengthening individual capacity and enhancing health policy and systems research (HPSR) uptake via its Publication Mentorship Program for First-Time Women Authors in the Field of HPSR.

Peer-reviewed publications are important for communicating scientific work, recognition within the research community and career progression. However, women lag behind their male colleagues in publications. A recent Lancet review argued that the division in knowledge between genders exists in all countries, with less than 30% of the world’s researchers being women. They further argue that while the proportion of women is increasing, these women still publish less than their male counterparts.
