The 2019 HSG annual report shares highlights and progress made in the penultimate year of HSG’s current five-year strategy. Despite 2019 not being a Global Symposium year, it was a busy 12 months for the society with several highlights, including:
- In collaboration with the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and Health Policy and Planning, HSG launched a call for mentoring early-career women health policy and systems researchers based in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).
- Further growth in the range of HSG global and regional engagement activities, including ten LAC pre-conferences, a call for ten convenings in Africa and four meetings in the Asia and Pacific region.
- An official side event at UNGA 74, co-hosted by HSG with the Alliance and Government of Georgia, to advocate for the value and importance of HPSR in the context of achieving UHC.
