The HPSR database goes live!
The Teaching and Learning Health policy and Systems Research (HPSR) Thematic Working Group (TWG) of Health Systems Global is delighted to announce the launch of its HPSR Training Database.
We are constantly working to update and expand the database. If you are involved with or know of additional courses or materials that are not yet listed on the database, we want to hear from you! Information on courses can be entered directly into the database and will be reviewed by an admin prior to publication; all other inquiries for adding content can be made to the TWG coordinator.
The database is an online, crowd-sourced database of courses and trainings on health systems research from around the world. Aimed at both teachers and learners, the database houses information and links to a number of training resources. It includes the following features:
- Users are able to search for HPSR training opportunities by region, country, language, audience, delivery mode, and a full text keyword search
- Links to open access HPSR training repositories and course materials as well as tools and libraries from HPSR related multi- partner collaborations
- Users are able to submit HPSR courses, training opportunities, links to repositories, and tools to be added to the site
- Users can share news of upcoming courses and training opportunities on the events page.
The database has been developed as a result of a global mapping study of current teaching and training programmes focused on HPSR relevant to low- and middle-income countries (published in 2015). Conducted by the Teaching and learning HPSR TWG and commissioned by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, the study assessed the reach and diversity of HPSR teaching and training in terms of content and modalities, identifying major gaps and opportunities to expand HPSR teaching capacity.
The development of this database has been made possible through support from the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, the Wellcome Trust and INIS Communication.
