Title of webinar
Strengthening Kenya’s Community Health Promoter Programme: using modelling to enhance policy and practice
Webinar theme overview
Please join the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and Health Systems Global for a webinar on Strengthening Kenya’s Community Health Promoter Programme: using modelling to enhance policy and practice. This event will discuss how health systems modelling can inform policy and practice to strengthen Kenya's Community Health Promoter Programme. Bringing together policymakers and health system modelers, it will provide findings from an ongoing study modelling a range of policy options to enhance CHP coverage and reflect on how these can be feasibly implemented.
This webinar is part of a series of webinars on health systems impact modelling being hosted by the Alliance for Health POlicy and Systems Research and Health Systems Global.
More information on this can be found on the health systems impact modelling home page.

About the speakers:
Dr Claire F Brereton PhD FAICD FACS MPH CEng is a health systems modeller and Research Fellow at the University of Queensland's Frazer Institute. With a background in information technology, healthcare transformation and public health, she develops qualitative and quantitative models to support evidence-informed policymaking. Claire is the technical lead for the project Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Community Health Promoters in Kenya's Health System, which uses system dynamics modelling to explore policy options for strengthening Kenya's 110,000-strong Community Health Promoter workforce.
Christopher Khayeka Wandabwa, PhD, is a molecular biologist and interdisciplinary researcher at Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands. His research spans public health, non-communicable diseases, food systems, and One Health, with particular interest in health and health-system challenges in sub-Saharan Africa. He has experience across laboratory, clinical, human cohort, and community-based research, including interdisciplinary study design and implementation, field research coordination, stakeholder engagement, research ethics, and multi-institutional collaborations across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Tim Roberton is an Associate Professor of Global Health at the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Western Australia (UWA). His focus is on developing analytical tools to help Ministries of Health understand the impact of their maternal and child programs and health system investments.
Dr Zubin Shroff is a health systems specialist with over ten years of experience in the areas of health governance and financing, human resources for health and access to medicines. At the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, he leads portfolios of work on health policy analysis, health financing and health emergencies. This encompasses the conceptualization and development of cross-national research programs, engaging with policy-makers at national level to support programme implementation and efforts to strengthen the capacities of national researchers towards evidence informed policy-making.
He holds Doctoral and Master’s degrees in Global Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and a medical degree from the University of Delhi. He believes that the Alliance’s position straddling research and policy-making communities enables him to leverage his analytical skills towards stronger health systems, something that he has been passionate about since first entering medical school.

About the Health Systems Impact Modelling webinar series:
The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and Health Systems Global (HSG) are working together on a programme of work on Health Systems Impact Modelling.
This includes the development of modelling approaches to measure the impact of health systems strengthening (HSS) interventions on essential health services in three countries: Ethiopia, Indonesia and Kenya. It also includes bringing together a wider group of stakeholders from around the world to exchange experiences around the use of health systems modelling, share best practices, and catalyse the creation of a community of researchers, policymakers and programme implementers interested in the use of health systems modelling to inform policy and practice in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
