October 12 Update & Important Actions: Visas for Colombia
The HSR2022 Local Organizing Committee is actively gathering confirmed attendance lists of HSR2022 delegates to seek support from the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where visas may be required. Coordinating with the Ministry to provide updated attendance lists and visas in that are currently in process is crucial; consulates require authorization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue visas for this HSR2022 event.
Important Actions
If you have already applied for a visa:
HSR 2022 conference delegates or those intending to attend HSR 2022 who have already applied for a visa to enter Colombia (denied, in admittance, payment incomplete, pending process, etc). Please complete all information requested in the Existing visa application – Status Pending or Denied section of the form, and provide all information regarding your current visa application and attach as a screenshot or pdf your status as it appears on the visa portal and/or your last e-mail communication received from the corresponding Colombian consulate
Please submit no later than Friday, October 14th, 2022 at 12pm EST to receive support from the LOC. Form link
If you are an HSR2022 delegate and have not yet applied for a visa
If you are a HSR2022 conference delegate and have yet to apply for a visa to enter Colombia, please indicate this via this link. Please complete all of the information requested in the New Visa Applicant section of the form. We kindly ask that you submit this form by Friday, October 14th, 2022 at 5pm EST.
Over the next week, we will work to issue you a visa letter so that you may apply when the portal reopens. We strongly advise that in the meantime you gather all other required visa documents in anticipation of the visa application portal reopening. The Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has posted on its website that its visa portal is due to be back online on October 21, 2022, at 8:00 am (Colombian Time or UTC -5).
Delegates are requested to kindly check if they need a visa to enter Colombia on the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, at https://www.cancilleria.gov.co/tramites_servicios/visa/requisitos. In the drop-down menu, under “Purpose of your trip (Propósito de viaje o permanencia),” please select “Tourism / Participant in event (Turismo / Participante en evento).”

I applied on September 25th and paid the approval fees. I was later asked to pay the visa fees. It was a struggle. I later paid in my country through the help of the Embassy in Ghana. I am now stuck. I have no responses after sending evidence of the visa fees paid to the Consular in Ghana.
