New Health Systems Global Board Officers announcement
Following a vote by the Health Systems Global (HSG) Board at its meeting on Monday 14th November in Vancouver, Canada, we are delighted to confirm the names of HSG’s new Board Officers.
Kabir Sheikh is named as the new Chair of HSG. Kabir previously served as Vice Chair and will bring significant experience and commitment to the role of HSG Chair, with a strong vision for the organisation’s future.
Asha George will be the new Vice Chair of HSG, and Daniel Maceira completes the new HSG Board Officer team as Treasurer. Both Asha and Daniel joined the HSG Board following 2016 Board Election and will bring fresh perspectives and verve to these roles.
The HSG Board Officers according to the society bylaws will serve until end of 2018, with the right to be re-elected for another two-year term.
HSG Board members and the HSG secretariat would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Sara Bennett and Fadi El-Jardali for their exemplary leadership and huge dedication and energy as HSG Chair and Treasurer, respectively. Sara and Fadi remain members of the HSG Board, and the new Board Officers and secretariat look forward to continuing to draw upon on their wisdom and experience.
The new HSG Board Officers and Board members will be introduced at the HSG Annual General Meeting at 12:45 to 14:00 on Thursday 17th November during the Fourth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in Vancouver.
