Introducing the new Health Systems Global Secretariat
Dear HSG members, warm greetings from the new Health Systems Global (HSG) Secretariat. As you may already know, in March 2015 the Secretariat moved from the Center for Health and Infectious Disease Research at the University of Copenhagen to Curatio International Foundation, based in Tiblisi, Georgia. Inis Communication in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is continuing to lead the communication functions of HSG.
The newly established secretariat is tasked with an ambitious agenda that includes showcasing the impressive breadth of work being done by the Thematic Working Groups (TWGs), continuing the agenda set at the Cape Town Symposium, increasing and broadening our membership base and energizing our interactions with key stakeholders such as policy-makers, practitioners, donors and civil society. We have also begun work on organizing the HSG Symposium in Vancouver which will take place in November 2016.
While the Secretariat is still in transition, we have been working hard behind the scenes on setting up some key functions to serve the HSG members and meet their needs and expectation. A new, re-designed HSG website that better reflects the dynamic nature of our community will be launched this summer. This monthly newsletter will keep members updated on the activities of the network members, the secretariat and the Board.
We are also currently consulting the TWGs on their individual needs and goals, and are setting up processes to provide tailored support to each group.
We are excited to work with all of you and help nurture a thriving HSG community that is a leading global source of health systems research and policy solutions.
