Accepted papers will be published as part of a special issue for the journal on the 7th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, which took place between October 31 and November 4, 2022 in Bogota, Colombia.
This special issue will focus on the symposium’s overarching theme ’Health Systems Performance in the Political Agenda: Sharing lessons for Current and Future Global Challenges’, specifically about health systems under stress: health service responses, human resource adaptation and technological innovation resulting from the covid-19 pandemic.
You can read more about the symposium/special issue theme and sub-themes here.
Original research articles as well as review papers are invited. We particularly welcome papers that not only analyze problems but seek to provide solutions and insights into a path forward that improves health system performance.
Please submit long, structured abstracts of maximum 350 words as a Word document to email@example.com by May 1st, 2023. Submission must include an introduction/background, aim, methods, findings, and conclusion. Please also include title and list of co-authors with affiliations. All submissions must be in English and should fit within the journal’s scope and full manuscripts should be able to follow our instructions for authors. All papers should be ready to submit by October 1, 2023.
Papers that receive positive reviews but are not deemed suitable for this supplement but still fulfill the scope, may be considered for individual publication at the International Journal for Equity in Health. It is our aim that, at a minimum, 60-70% of papers will come from a first author based in a low or middle-income country. While there is a discount for HSG members regarding publication fees, alternatives for funding are available for authors that are invited to submit full manuscripts. This should be discussed with the guest editors upon submission.
