Health Systems Global Board
War has grave consequences; amongst them, it imposes major setbacks to the health of people and threatens the health systems that are intended to protect and improve their care and well-being. It leads to injuries, loss of life, mass displacement, refugee crises, and long-term morbidity and mortality. It also disrupts health systems, imposes a huge burden on health service delivery, and impedes the growth and development of health policy agendas and health systems strengthening.
Health Systems Global condemns all war, aggression, oppression, and factors leading to the displacement of people. Our thoughts and concerns are with all the people affected by such conflicts around the world.
We urge concerned governments and leaders to pursue peaceful means to resolutions. Meaningful action and emergency humanitarian relief are needed to help millions of people suffering from the impacts of war today.
