Call for expressions of interest: Alliance for HPSR Board Member

The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research is calling for expressions of interest from those interesting in becoming a Board member.

The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research was established in 1999 and is hosted as an international partnership within the World Health Organization (WHO). The Alliance’s mission is to promote the generation and use of health policy and systems research as a means to strengthen the health systems in low- and middle-income countries. The four main objectives of the Alliance are to:

  1. Provide a unique forum for the health policy and systems research community;
  2. Support institutional capacity for the conduct and uptake of health policy and systems research;
  3. Stimulate the generation of knowledge and innovations to nurture learning and resilience in health systems;
  4. Increase the demand for and use of knowledge for strengthening health systems.

The Alliance Board is managed and governed by 9-10 members. The Alliance Board is self-governed – it elects its members and its Chair. Members of the Alliance board will be selected in an individual capacity and not as representatives of their institution or country, for a three-year term, renewable once.

Board members will be selected based on their expertise, experience, and knowledge in the field of Health Policy and Systems Research and Health Systems.

A motivation letter reflecting interest of the nominee in the Alliance work and contribution to the Alliance board (maximum 1 page), plus a curriculum vitae, should be submitted by email to alliancehpsr@who.int. Deadline for applications is 22 October 2018.
