Building Better Healthcare: HSG Board Member Dina Balabanova on BBC World Service's 'The Evidence'

On Sunday, 03 June, 2018, HSG Board Member Dina Balabanova appeared as a guest on the BBC World Service’s show ‘The Evidence’ to debate what the ideal health system looks like. In this episode – ‘Building Better Healthcare’ – guests were asked “If you could build a healthcare system from scratch, how would you design it?”.

During the debate, Dina offered evidence from countries in the world with surprisingly effective health services, emphasising that it’s not how much money you spend, but how you spend it, and that innovation is key.  Other guests included:  Dr Bailor Barrie, co-founder of the Wellbody Alliance, who discussed his experience of setting up clinics in Sierra Leone in the aftermath of war and natural disasters such as Ebola; and Nayanabhiram Kalnad, who explained how digital healthcare is making medicine more equitable and from his company’s experience how doctors manage ever increasing demands in India.

You can listen to the full episode, which is available online until 02 July, 2018.
