We look forward to working together with scientists, practitioners, development partners, NGOs, and civil societies from different countries and regions, to realize the world where children can live, grow and learn well regardless of where they are born.”

“The Government of Japan has announced its renewed Global Health Strategy in May 2022 to demonstrate continued commitment to the global solidarity to save lives, focusing on strengthening global health architecture for better pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, as well as achievement of equitable, resilient and sustainable UHC. Organizing HSR2024 in Japan is timely in this context, and there is no better place than Nagasaki to host it,” stated Mr. Ikuo Takizawa, Senior Deputy Director General, and Senior Director, Office for COVID-19 Response, Human Development Department, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Mr. Masahiro Shikao, Director, Dejima Messe Nagasaki (venue of HSR 2024) affirmed, “Dejima Messe Nagasaki is proud and honored to serve as the host venue of HSR2024 global symposium. From the city of peace, within one mind, we hope the message of global health policies will reach the entire world. “

Dr. Adnan Hyder, HSG Vice Chair commented on behalf of the HSG Board, “We are delighted to welcome Japan as the host of HSR 2024 and were excited by the interest of the partners there including the government. We are especially pleased (amongst the bids) with their commitment to global access, strong visa facilitation, and high-level help to ensure the participation of colleagues from around the world.”

HSG’s biennial global symposia provide a forum to bring together actors involved in health policy and systems research from all around the world to convene, share knowledge, experience and innovative ideas, build capacity in the field, and advocate collectively for stronger health systems.   HSG is committed to equity of attendance from all parts of the world as representation is key to ensuring an effective forum for international debate and exchange on critical global concerns.
