4th International Community Health Workers Symposium to be held in Thailand in 2025
The Community Health Workers (CHWs) Thematic Working Group of Health Systems Global is pleased to announce that the 4th International CHW Symposium will be held in 2025 and hosted by Community Partners International in collaboration with Khon Kaen and Mahidol universities. The symposium, with a focus on CHWs in the front line, will showcase the work of CHWs in the Southeast Asia region, particularly among fragile, conflict and humanitarian settings, in addition to recognizing the other vital work and research done among this health workforce around the world. More details about this symposium will be available soon.
This event will be held following a successful 3rd International CHW symposium held in Monrovia, Liberia, in March 2023 and attended by over 700 participants from over 46 countries. At this symposium, the Government of Liberia committed 1.8 million US dollars to the country’s National Community Health Program in recognition of its value and outstanding contribution to the health care delivery system. The Vice President of Liberia, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor’s commitment to champion Liberia’s CHWs elevated the country even more as an exemplar on the continent and around the world.

The first CHW Symposium was held in Uganda in 2017, and the second event was held in Bangladesh in 2019.
