We know how important teaching and learning HPSR is, and many of us get to see materials from the courses of our colleagues and hear about the experiences of global leaders like CHEPSAA, ARCADE, KEYSTONE and others. Yet, we seldom get the opportunity for one-on-one mentorship and peer exchange to problem solve and get new ideas for our own work. We have just such an opportunity planned! This webinar will introduce you to all of the mentorship and peer exchange opportunities planned for the skills-building session that our TWG is hosting on Tuesday morning, November 15th, in Vancouver and will give you important tips on how to prepare to get the most out of the session! We will also welcome your questions and feedback on how to make the session even more relevant to your needs!
- Describe and discuss the objective of the upcoming “clinic” session in Vancouver: Our first priority is for participants to get one-on-one input and mentorship on developing and adapting materials and strategies for teaching HPSR. The second priority is to create an environment conducive to relationship-building and networking among other researchers and teachers in the field of HPSR.
- “Clinic” session topics: We will describe the set of diverse topics related to teaching and learning HPSR—such as developing syllabi, building sets of core competencies, and developing educational research proposals—that we know there is interest in and for which we have identified experts who will be at the session to work with you. We will welcome additional feedback on other interests, and will have a space during the session in Vancouver for people who bring other questions and ideas with them.
- Recommendations on how to prepare for the session: We will discuss how the “clinic” session in Vancouver will run, and offer recommendations and support for how to prepare in order to get the most out of it.
